Waterfront Neighbourhood Space: Rattle Teachings Workshop

Join Trina Moyan and Shak Gobert for a Rattle Teachings & Making Session at the Waterfront Neighbourhood Space. Through storytelling, teachings, and hands-on making, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of rattles while creating your own personal rattle. Through the workshop, you will have the opportunity to weave in the layered stories and future thinking of Ookwemin Minising.

Rattles are sacred ceremonial instruments used by many Indigenous Nations. Learn about the cultural significance of rattles and create one!

Rattles and shakers are sacred and carry their own protocols, teachings, and responsibilities. They are more than objects; they hold the spirit and intentions of those who bring them into being and of all those who journey with them. A shaker may be made for an individual, a family, or an entire community.
