Tours led by LAT Art Guides
The LAT Art Guide Program provides current college and university students with valuable work experience in the arts. Through hands-on opportunities and mentorship, participants develop their confidence, communication, and presentation skills while gaining practical experience in arts programming.
Join us every Saturday for a drop-in Art + Nature tour led by a LAT Art Guide. These walking tours invite participants to explore the artworks along the Lassonde Art Trail while discovering the rich history, ecology, and ongoing transformation of Biidaasige Park.
12 pm - Art + Nature Tour (30 minutes, slow paced)
A short, slow-paced introduction to the Lassonde Art Trail. Over approximately 30 minutes, participants will visit a selection of artworks while learning about their connections to the park’s landscape, history, and ecology. This tour is ideal for those looking for an accessible and relaxed introduction to LAT or for those who have limited time.
2 pm - Art + Nature Tour (1 hour)
An in-depth, thematic exploration of the Lassonde Art Trail, lasting approximately one hour. This tour will visit several artworks and explore a particular theme or set of connections between art, nature, and the history of Biidaasige Park. Participants will have more time to engage with the artworks, ask questions, and consider the relationships between the park’s evolving landscape and the artistic practices represented along the Trail.
All tours are drop-in and free to attend.
Please be aware that the trees in the park system are not yet mature, so there is little shade. We recommend dressing according to the weather.
